I DON'T WANT TO BE THE ONE WHO'S NOT THERE

Stir of voices,
In the mind that's unfamiliar,
A setting not my own.
Series of unfortunate choices,
That has me staring into the mirror,
Seeing someone else who belongs at home.
I look to a ring less phone,
Saddened by happy times,
Isn't there anyone left who seems to care.
About a man sentenced to be alone,
Plagued by a memory playing mind,
I don't want to be the one who's not there.
To see my kids growing older,
The laughs louder than love,
As me and my wife pour out our hearts.
But all I get is the cold shoulder,
No answer from above,
No sound of pouring just the ripping of inside parts.
I swore so many times,
The ears go deaf to my words,
I can't even dream up a worse nightmare.
I'll answer to my crimes,
If you just lift this damning curse,
I don't want to be the one who's not there.
If there's any man,
Who needs to be spared,
Im a good man,
I don't want to be the one who's not there.
I don't want to be the one who's not there.
