I Know

Your smell lingers for just awhile
After you leave
I try to take it in before it's gone
Because I'm not sure when I'll see you again
I know this means more to me than it does to you
I know
That's why when I look into your eyes
Or feel your lips on me
I have to physically stop myself
From melting into you
I knew what this was when it started
So it wouldn't be fair to make it more
I've wanted this for so long
So I'll take in as much of you as I can 
When we're together
And hold on to that when we're not
I remind myself daily
That you have an entire life outside of this
Which doesn't include me
So I try not to feel bad if I don't hear from you 
No one can be forced to give more of themselves 
Than they want to 
Again, I know
I just can't help but wonder
If you think about me more
Than just at night when you're looking for fun
Or if we're more alike than I think
And you want to make the scent of me
On you 
Last just a little while longer
