Poem -

I Know Better

Weak and shaking
Tears endlessly fall
This is the night
Where it all went wrong
Winter’s chill
Wraps around
Torn apart clothes
Scattered on the ground
Come and went
Leaving a husk
Once a person
Now laying in the dust
Eyes glazed over
Time stood still
Goosebumps remain
His touch still felt
Took all that was
Leaving behind
Nothing to trace
Human no longer
Just an empty shell
Left on the ground
Left a disgrace
No point in moving
No stranger stops to help
Aware of how
It will all end
They will all say
It’s your fault
Your skirt too short
Your clothes too night
You should have known
Better then to
Walk alone
Late at night
No one will remember
What happened, but you
He’ll get in trouble
For maybe a month
Maybe even two
But life moves on
You never will
You’ll feel his touch
Each winters chill
You try to hide it
Pretend everything’s fine
Deep in your eyes
I see all the lies
I see how it’s changed you
Your smile, your laugh
Can tell it’s all forced
I see the pain
The scars that he left
You say you’ve moved on
I know better then that

That was really good. You captured the emotion without a word of the topic I just understood.
