I Love You

You can't touch me,
I'm out of your reach,
I'm the new queen bee,
With the swagger you can't teach,
My heart in a cage,
But my spirit roams free,
You can't capture the rage,
That courses through me,
When I see you with her,
She clings to your side,
I remember how we were,
And these thoughts I can't abide,
Take her to the dungeon!
Off with her head!
These visions I can't function,
Of you in her bed,
Once my best friend,
Now my worst enemy,
A memory I must end,
And these thoughts, the death of me,
I wish for this nightmare to go away,
For her to be gone,
And for you to forever stay,
She told me you would flee,
I wake to see if it's true,
When I find you here next to me,
I can only say, "I love you."

Wow another awesome write! Love it! I'm sure many can relate to this one.

Thanks, I kinda like it too
The poem is beautiful even if I cannot grasp the reason you would take him back at all. To be with another when you have shared a loving relationship with someone else might be forgivable, but for that other person to have been a friend of your previous lover. No sorry that kicks them both out of my inner circle. We might be friendly again, but only when we happen to see each other! It is a powerful write and a pleasure to read. The Shaker
