The story began when I was on leave one day
Everything I saw in New York was more than okay
Did all the sights as all the tourists do 
Brooklyn Bridge has a most fantastic view

I ended up at night time in bustling Times Square
That's when I ended up meeting Marilyn Monroe there
She was doing a walkabout I know it was her 
If only I had evidence that I could prove and concur

Well dear comrades Ms Monroe was really pretty 
It's true I met her that evening in New York City 
I don't suppose you believe me I swear it's the truth
For certain it was her for she was with Babe Ruth
