I Often Fail You

I Often Fail You

I often fail you
though my
heart
has always
been right

I stress a lot
and allow
the anxiety
to take
over
but you
are
the one
I hold
on to
I guess
I believe
together
we will
overcome

I am strong
though
my addiction
to nicotine
is my weakness
I cannot
lie
anymore
It is
the shadow
that I pretend
is not
there
and it
keeps
me from
showing
the truth
It is the darkness
the chains
to my destruction

Oh how I wish to be free..............................

It's been said that nicotine is far more addictive than even black tar heroin, Greg.
Because the drug targets the pleasure centers of our brain, it is also one of the most difficult habits to kick.
Look, we all have our vices and few of them are productive.
Like you, my personal cross to bear is nicotine. For others, it's alcohol.
We DO both have an addiction that IS productive rather than destructive, however.
We write poetry...

Hello Greg...

There are much worse things to be addicted to...

Anything, that can be addicting can also be a habit...

People that don't smoke, don't die?

Prove that and I will do my best to turn into an adorable monkey...

Great write!

Thank you for sharing...

Hugs...
