Poem -

I raise my glass.

I raise my glass.

If you ask me to stay,Β
stop lying to me.
If you tell me to go,Β
leave me alone.
Β
Please, don't use the tightly woven inner workings of my mind to torment me and play me, like the fiddle you can't play.Β
It's not beautiful! But a painful sound.Β
A story of utter heartbreak and loss.Β
You,
wrapped around my eyes with a cloth soaked in poison.Β
Flled my glass with empty promisesΒ and my plate with disregrard.

And now I sit alone at the table wishing I had seen, all along.- I had the strength to starve.Β
