I Remain The Same

I Remain The Same

Gabriel Magno © 1986 (BMI)

I got a woman down the road, saying love will come my way

If I do just what I’m told, but I remain the same

I like a belly full of wine, and I like singing in the rain

Don’t know the way to be unkind, and I remain the same

I don’t wanna be your hero, and I ain’t here to save your day

All I wanna give to you is my song, and I remain the same

I make my home some dusty trail, from Tennessee up to P.A.

I pick my road from heads or tails, and I remain the same

I will love you, and I’ll keep you, just as long as you’re true

But don’t hate me, or forsake me, If I tell you what I really think of you

Time I was heading down the line, getting home to you on some old train

But I ain’t never been on time, and I remain the same
