I Remember

I Remember

I remember
being able to play
when walking to a friends
was not met with dismay
when we were allowed kick a ball
and climb a wall
without being told we'd claim
if we had a fall

I remember
playing kiss chasing
where it often wasn't bad
to get a second placing
you often wanted to get caught
but still, giggled and ran and fought

I remember
kick the can
and getting chased by some irate man
then there was knock a dolly
where getting nabbed was your own folly

Oh the simple joys
when we were little girls and boys
I remember

Dear Susan,

The days of youthful innocence
Just relics of the past
Never worrying about one's defense
No longer does it last

.
Kickball now computerized
Kick The Can, a forgotten joy
Children not allowed outside unsupervised
Housebound girls and boys

Hugs, Peace, and Love,
Larry xxx

Dear Susan,

My words were merely echos of your lovely ones, which brought back such joyous memories of my youth.
It was my honor to write them for you.

Hugs, Peace, and Love,
