Poem -

I see you

I see you
Standing there
With your rosy cheeks
And your wavy hair

I see you
Standing there
Eyes so green
Skin so fair

I see you
You were me
When I was young
And carefree

You were me
When life was mine
When my eyes still sparkled
And the sun still shined

Now everything’s cloudy
The days are dark and grey
It’s too late now
The time has gone away

I watch you for a moment
As if you were me
Thinking of all the things
That then I couldn’t see

I wish you joy
I hope you’re free
Never give that up
Don’t end up like me
