I SURRENDER TO HER BLAZE

A kiss of death

I SURRENDER TO HER BLAZE

I AM BUT HOLLOW DRY WOODΒ
LAYING IN THE DUST OF THE EARTHΒ
WAITING TO BE CONSUMEDΒ
BY YOUR FERVENT HEAT.

I AM HYPNOTIZED BY YOUR SWIRL OF COLORSΒ
MOVING SLOWLY TOWARDS MY DEMISE.

YET I LAY MOTIONLESS,Β
TRAPPED,Β
BY THE SOUND OF YOUR KISSESΒ
TELEGRAPHED ON THE WIND.

I CAN SEE THE RAGE WITHIN YOUR BLUE EYESΒ
AND YOUR CONSUMING POWER OF RED FLAMES
WHICH FALLS FROM YOUR LIPSΒ
LIKE THE BLINDNESS OF VOLCANIC ASHES.

MANY MEN, SMALL AND GREATΒ
YOU’V DEVOURED WITHOUT A FIGHT.

AND I FORECAST THE SAME OUTCOME
OF MY SUBDUED HEARTΒ
WHICH YOU HAVE SEIZEDΒ
BY YOUR MYSTICAL BEAUTY.

WILFORD BARKER.
