I THOUGHT

I THOUGHT

When I was born
I thought nothing

As a child
I thought a few things

By the time I was a teen
I thought I knew everything

Then, as an adult
I thought I knew some things

By the time I was a senior
I thought I knew most things

But now, as an old man, I realize
What I thought, didn’t mean a damn thing

Then don’t be
The fly in the pie
