I used to...

I used to feel excitement for the weekends ahead when fun with my friends was dancing with tread
But those days are long gone and I sit on a seat resting my weary well-rambled feet
Nowadays my life lacks adventure and fun, going on holidays chasing the sun..Discovering new places is just in my mind with my traces of faces that youth left behind.. Oh where has my emotion of enthusiasm went as the timelessness of my age has made my memories well spent
As each notch of my life is another year older and I oil out the wrinkles from my face to my shoulder.. How I miss those thrills that my youthfulness found.. my life many years ago was like a merry-go-round.. I used to think my time on earth sped by so slow but now I am left wondering where did it go..

Lovely...
In this poem, you explore a very important topic that we all think about at some point in our lives, mainly when we feel ourselves getting older, feeling more fatigued, or less active, experiencing lots of other issues, we never faced when we were young. There is something special that comes with age, the knowledge that has been stored and learned, lots of good memories (some may have been forgotten). A more relaxed pace. Less need for "fame, popularity and riches." Just a different phase in life.
The best part about growing older (besides) having grandchildren, is more time to read, write and explore new hobbies and interest. Your poetry is wonderful. Glad you have had time to write more poetry.
