I was a leaf on a tree

I was a leaf on a treeย
I dance in the sunlight
When the wind would blow
When it rained I got wet
But the sun would come out and dry me outย
Then came fall I was never the same
I turned colors and fell to the ground
Where the wind blow me all around
Then I change colors again
I turned brown when I fell down.
Then winter came the snow and the ice covered me up I was frozen
Under the snow.
Then came spring The sun came out
Melted all the snow and dried me up
Then came along a humanย
Raked me up in a pile with no smile
Then put me in a machine and grinding me up into mulch
Put me in a garden with all the flowers and
That is where i will stay in gardenย
I was a leaf onย a tree.

Love when you do a personification of something Greg. You are so good at it. I felt the loneliness in this write. The acceptance that fate would take you wherever it planned. No control. A truly wonderfully worded poem xย

Thank you so much that means a lot to me
You are so very welcome Greg. I always love your rhyming schemes and structure. Also your perception is beautiful as you always take the reader to a new angle of viewing life. Be that from the eyes of a rose, or a puddle, or in this case a leaf. So clever my friend, never underestimate yourself. You are a wonderful poet. Your words linger in a readers mind. I always remember your poetry :) xย
Wow Greg...your absolute best to date in my book...love this story of a leaf starting out beautiful fresh and young only to.end up destroyed by life and back in the earth from whence it came. Probably every living thing on this planet could relate. Brilliant write my friend...a zillion stars to you x
