Poem -

I Would Never Let You Go

I Would Never Let You Go

Inspired by the song, “Never Gonna Let You Go”, by Sergio Mendes, 1983

If only I could go back, to just sixteen years ago;
I would hold you close all day and night, “I Would Never Let You Go”!
Unlike when I used to leave you, for extended business trips;
Seeking fame and fortune, your hearts and Souls both ripped!
.
I sacrificed such tender times, that I should have spent with you;
My precious Angel Soulmates, who loved me very true!
I was hunting for hidden treasures, when I had such riches right at home;
And now that you’re both in Heaven, forever I atone!
.
I wish that you were young again, and full of youthful energy;
The three of us inseparable, you’d be ever next to me!
We would travel as a triumvirate, o’er the land, go to and fro;
Sharing all the times we should have spent, for “ I Would Never Let You Go”!
.
.
I sought lost fortunes
But had riches right at home
Now gone forever

What a touching story. You described the story well. Pets are awesome, they become part of the family.

Our Dear Katina,

Our whole lives are devoted to our Angel Cookie, as they were for so many years, dedicated to our dear Nico and Cody.  They are much more than just pets; they are our children.

All our love,
Linda and Larry xxx

I know what you mean. My beloved cat, Charlie was such a blessing in my life. The cat actually woke us up when our gas stove was turned on accidentally. I have since got a new pet, another cat named Angel, who is a blessing. A new friend. Thanks Larry & Linda for sharing your story.

My Dear Friend Barry,

Yes, once they are gone, those treasured times together that were lost, bring painful heartache, ruing over what should have been.

Peace and Love,

My Dear Cherie,

Yesterday, at 8:50 a.m., the exact time that Cody took his last breath, Linda and I were on Cosmo, while songs played on the Music Channel, on our living room television.  All of a sudden, The song by Linda Ronstadt, Different Drum, which has much significance, and always brings tears, began playing.  It was as if Cody was sending us a message from Heaven.  Then, last night, I had two beautiful dreams about Nico.  I will eternally be connected to their Souls.

All my love,
Larry xxx
