I WROTE YOU LOVE POEMS.

The door closed with a click.
Almost silently you walked away.
I sit in my chair feeling the tears 
I know you will never come back.

I remember when we first met.
So very long ago, so many years.
You were  lovely so beautiful.
Just looking at you took my breath.

I used to write you love poems.
God how I loved you.
My poems said how much.
Now you want the bright lights
of the night in the city.

I will not try to stop you.
Trying to blow flames from 
the grey ashes 
of what was once us.

Go then my love.
Take all we  have 
I do not want it.

Leave me here in my chair
Where I will continue to write
beautiful love poems for you.
Love poems that I know
You will never understand.
