The winter
has brought
an ice storm
that started 
With the election

Nothing lives
under it's 
Frozen coat
for a significant
Period of 
time

Oxygen
Is smothered 
Sending 
Autumn's
breath
To a distant
Memory

Cold clutch
Of social
Control
Leaves 
A feeling
Of de ja vue
To  a scene
from Dr Zhivago 

For the patriots
Our spirit
Lives
As it bleeds
Red White
And blue
Our soul's
Fabric
Is created
From
our
Constitution 

We will
Survive
The scorn
Of a socialist
Revolution
Because
Freedom
Liberty
And the 
Pursuit
Of happiness
Will
Prevail
