Idle Gossip ☹️

Idle Gossip ☹️

Weaving words of nonsense
Idle gossip spreads around
It circles far & travels wide
Not knowing where it is bound

Silent whispers scattered like seeds
Poisoned by the callous scaremonger
Collecting falsehoods as it goes
Who started this rumour nobody knows

A little truth will escalate
Into a malicious lie
Some people speak blarney
So cunningly & fly

Falsehoods & exaggerations
Impossible to know the truth
Damage caused is unrepairable
Misrepresentation without proof

Innocent victims so tarnished
Abused from a tittle tattles tongue
Divulging a slanderous secret
Though it was ludicrous when it begun

Alas human nature makes it possible
Rumourmongers do exist
So keep your personal private
Don’t let whisperers add you to their list

Another decent poem goes unnoticed and I'm astonished.  Lost of truth in this and very enjoyable to read.
