If

If

If wounded on the battlefield my scars would be on show.

If sitting in a wheelchair, those around would always know.

If all my bones were crumbling, my pain would be allowed.

If fate robbed sight or sound from me, I know they'd do me proud.

But grief is heartless, cold and mean, it hides the scarring deep.

They cannot see my broken heart so wonder why I weep.

For though their lives have carried on, just as it's meant to be,

my life is frozen on that day, the day that you left me.

If only you could find a way to show you're by my side.

If only you could come to me with arms so open wide.

If only I could feel your touch, then I would know you're here.

If only you could comfort me and help appease my fear.

If wishes really could come true, there's only one I'd plead.

Please bring my soul mate back to me, he's all I truly need.

He's already gone Barry but I feel in my heart we're not done yet, so I know we'll be together again in another time.x
