Poem -

If I Died Tomorrow

If I died tomorrow, would you miss me?Β
Would you think of me . . . us?Β
In the last place that lay, you and me?Β
Would you stand in the rain to hide your tears?Β
In your mind you see me, but in your memory you try to erase me.Β
In your heart you feel me, but your brain tries to numb the acheΒ
That was me.Β
Am I now nothing more than a forgotten memory?Β
Lost among souls I search for you,Β
But without my body I cannot follow you.Β
I cannot hear you or smell you or taste you.Β
So where, where should I wait for you?Β
Your memories are my gateway,Β
So please do not forget me . . .Β
Forgotten souls are lost without memories to guide our way.Β
That light when we die is not just our guide to Heaven,Β
It's the path to the hearts and memories of the ones we love.Β
So please don't forget me, and I will always wait for you
