If I Only Knew

Some are lucky, some not so lucky

If I Only Knew

Never again will I get in a canoe
In the middle of a dark swamp if I only knew
My dog suddenly jumped out causing me to drop my oars
Why did he jump landing on the muddy bank on all fours

Oh no, now I see Three alligators coming after me
What do I do, these reptile amputators
Showing their huge teeth, these ugly tail gators
This is why I will never, ever get in a canoe
In the middle of a swamp if I only knew

Oh my gosh such terrible stress
This scary story, the ending I will let you guess
Is this written by my ghost
Because I was the alligators breakfast toast
Oh I left out the fate of my dog please forgive
He was rescued and definitely did live
