If I stare he tells me a story...

If I stare he tells me a story...

To steal a look is to ask too much of the one that looks back at me
He stares with guilt and empty promises that he will change his ways
To feel the knife in my back I'm not sure what I bleed is even real
The image I see is the blurred reality of a night time story of being insane

I'm a night time story and I rip my own pages
Writing keeps pouring and I keep killing faces
I'm still pretending but I'm forever in my cages
I'm flesh and blood with cracks in the pavement

I doubt myself with the truth and then live life with a lie
A growing look that shoots me down and turns me into a slave
I find myself again with you but all I see is evil in your eyes
I want to smash the mirror but my actions will put me in a grave

To steal a look is to ask too much of the one that looks back at me
He stares with guilt and empty promises that he will change his ways
To feel the knife in my back I'm not sure what I bleed is even real
The image I see is the blurred reality of a night time story of being insane

The walls are shaking because I'm going back to a serpent
I tell myself I'm drifting in and out and it's time to repent
I've got an addiction and he crawls on his belly to hell
Call it superstition but I'm the one drowning in the well
Look away, don't dwell
Look away, don't dwell...
