Poem -

If only you weren't you

If only you weren't you.

A thought I'm sure you've had

I've tried so very hard

It makes me really sad

If only you weren't you

A true chum you see

Just one of the guys

Anyone but me

If only you weren't you

A conversation may ensue

It's a possibility

If only you weren't you

I've almost heard you say

For  my own benefit

Wonder why you stay

If only you weren't you

I might actually mean something

To someone I may be

More than just a thing
