If you go out…

If you go out in the woods today 
You’re in for a big surprise 
There’s fallen embers catching all these pitiful sunken eyes
If you wander about, the roots will no doubt threaten each step 
If you wander about.
Brambles and bushes, decrepit and vile 
Every turn you take appears a mile 
You aren’t insane, you’ve been here before
Each branch becomes a door 
Every wanderer becomes the floor. 
If you go out in the woods today,
Pray for a new sunrise.
