illusion

illusion

you say that you love me,
you say that you care,
you say that we were meant to be,
but now in the darkest of night,
i see you there, under a street light
smiling and laughing with her,
while i'm now in the darkest of night,
breaking and wondering why,
why is there no light,
why you took my heart,
why you didn't care,
why you lied,
and why i even tried,
why life was never fair,
but now i know,
love, hope, happiness,
they are fake,
just an illusion,
an illusion that hides the truth,
the truth that only pain, sadness and hurt,
exists in your words.
