I'm Coming Home...

I'm Coming Home...

My crying eyes are so red,
Mam, I've done what you said,
I've killed but only to survive,
I'm coming home, by your side...

Sleepless nights, skies illuminated by enemy fire,
Dirty fingers on the trigger, I can't cope, I'm so tired,
Smoking cigarettes just to keep warm,
Talking to myself just to keep calm,

I'm writing this letter to you mam because I need to come home,
My friends have all died, it's just me left, I feel like I'm all alone,
Tears soak the page and the ink is running wet,
I hope you can read it because I've seen too many dead.

My crying eyes are so red,
Mam, I've done what you said,
I've killed but only to survive,
I'm coming home, by your side...

I think I'm too young for war, it's blackened my kind heart,
Seeing all this murder and torture it's tearing me apart,
I can't stop crying, I can't fold this letter I'm shaking with fear,
I'm just scared mam, I just wish your open arms were so near.

So I'm sending this to you, hopefully I'll see you soon,
Not too many nights I'll cry, under this murderous moon,
I'm coming by your side,
Over your son, you won't cry,
I'm coming home, I survived,
Your son will be by your side...

Dear miss Stubbs,
This letter was found on your son when he battled courageously,
Wayne passed away gently, we believe this wholeheartedly,
He was a strong man, a kind hearted, loving soul,
He spoke at times of seeing your smile back home,
We thought you should have this letter,
Always remember your son was a fighter,
We're so sorry for your loss, your sons heart wasn't stolen,
Just remember in dark times, you were his happy moments,
You.
For this, your son is always home...
