Impossible Love

Impossible Love

I love you as the day is long
I love you though it's oh so wrong
I hear your voice, I see you smile
I can't believe it's been awhile

My mind and heart cannot erase
The perfect circle of your face
I trace it with my hand and tongue
As though we are still oh so young

I know it's not the perfect tale
And what we have will surely fail
But long ago you crossed my path
And all these years I've yet to ask

What would life have likely been?
If I was not consumed with sin
I love you and I always will
I love you with my whole heart still
