Poem -

Imprisoned

Patrons hail me the blessed
To live under glass roof and marble walls
And wander the great lusty expanse,
Of pearly polished halls-
Ne'er I been kept at point blank
In some dimly lit cell
But there again its been so long
Since I've grazed the pastures
Of an outerwordly hell.
Beyond lonely pillars,
As sculpted in Greek art,
Beyond emerald fountains,
I hear the angels hark.
Perhaps its the gold trimmed chimney,
Or the mighty fortress tow'r,
Whatever my poor excuse may be,
That has made my complexion sour.
They heed my revered name,
Gawk at my lavish dress,
But though grand be my prison,
It is a prison nonetheless.

The Glitch

There’s a glitch in the circuit
A short circuit in the wire.
One too many blows to the mind...
