In a Childs Eye

Make a wish then break the wish…
Take the wish away,
Have a look…Make it swift..
Never let it stay.
Hold a hand…
Hold your tongue…
Should be seen not heard.
Left alone…house not home…..
never say a word.
Never dream…never hope….
keep it tucked inside.
Do something new…
Just for you….
but never show you’ve cried.
The day begins…The day will end….
You’ll say a little prayer.
A hope perhaps that when you wake,
The loveless are not there…….

Lodigiana still as captivating as ever. One to never tire of re- reading.
So well written with its emotional and unforgettable, respected message.
The way a good poem about awareness should be.
Your poem reaches out and touches one and all readers.
Thank you and I wish you well.
Take care. Shaun.x.
Thank you so much Shaun! The sadness some children have to go through is heartbreaking and the effect it has on their future lives is immeasurable in the way it can taint their view of life. They so often do not have a voice.. Thanks so much for your lovely words. Lodigiana xx
Lodigiana it was the least I could do.
And I can never thank you enough.
Your poem and poetry resonates with me so much
