Poem -

In a moment of must

In a moment of must

Squibble, squabbling for their early morning feed, these tiny hungry mouths look desperate indeed..hanging on to the bird feeders whilst nibbling the nuts.. they will eat their fill, no ifs or buts.. delightful little feathered friends all of a different variety, flittering and fluttering in ‘Got the jitters’ anxiety

Whilst it is the survival of the fittest, the tiny birds are nobody’s fool, perched on the nearby branches playing it cool.. then as soon as they get an ideal chance of opportune, down in a fleeting glimpse of gobble they harpoon.. but it must be a struggle, it’s very cold outside as I watch them puff out their little chests and tuck their tiny heads to hide.. tho when they feel peckish it’s bravado or bust as they hurry to the bird table in a moment of must

You know, I was watching the birds the other day and wanted to write about them, but I didn't get time. It's lovely to read your work here that describes exactly what I felt as I watched them...lovely 💕

Hi Jill..I just love observing birds and animals out in their natural environment....how they are so well equipped to survive and know their place and purpose in life...I wish we could feel so confident...lol  I love to watch hummingbirds in the spring and summer at my feeders....They are so cute and make the funniest chirpy sounds as they fight over the nectar...lol  Winter offers challenges for the birds here...but they always seem to find ways to make the most of life.  Thanks for sharing a beautiful scene. xo ;)
