Poem -

In Gratitude

In Gratitude

One day we will speak of a time never planned
an invasion took place and infested our land.
It entered in silence, no weapons of war
a most deadly opponent that nobody saw.
With nothing more lethal than  flimsy blue masks
our  army of heroes stood up to the tasks.
They put aside self and with so few supplies
stood nursing the sick and looked death in the eyes
With resolute courage they fought night and day
not  hiding inside but out leading the way
Not all of them made it, they are human too
but they gave all they had, even though they were few.
So when this time passes and life can return
let’s never forget this new lesson we’ve learned
True heroes are angels , our saviours in blue
And this is a tribute to each one of you
We thank you for working so hard all around us
and helping defeat this most virulent virus
You helped us have courage and see this right through
you have all our hearts, our great heroes  in blue.

Hi John,   Thanks so much..I am so full of admiration for these guys..especially when the major  thing concerning so many people seems to be  not being able to get their hair cut!!!   Lodigiana xx

I can't even imagine the strain they are under, they are truly magnificent.

Thanks Gerard...What they are doing is beyond heroic and it's so sad that we only see the real heroes in times of disaster..Many of my own friends who are retired Medical workers have returned to 'do their bit' I can't praise their selflessness enough..or thank them enough.. Lodigiana xx

Great tribute to those who are working hard to save lives and risk their own being exposed to sickness....Thank you for honoring them..I am thankful to the grocery store workers too that make sure we are getting necessities...I pray this pandemic will get in control soon.  Stay safe, Lodigiana. xo  Love n Hugs

It’s so strange to feel so united with the rest of the world fighting this unseen enemy. We look at the progression of this pandemic and we are preparing ourselves to see it get much worse before the curve flattens and things improve..No one is under any illusions that it will be over quickly we have months still to go but it’s amazing how one adapts and finds other ways of living. One of the things it has made us do is to look at small local businesses and try to support them, grocers, butchers etc and they have been fantastic..neighbours have learnt how to be neighbourly again and people just want to help one another..That has become such a good thing to see.I hope you are staying well and safe and that it wont be long before we can get together with friends and family once more.Thank you and big hugs my friend. xxx
