Broken promises are shattered laying empty on the ground

Love has been lost forever, not likely to be found

Guilt lies in a corner that is hardly ever swept

Secrets are hidden everywhere as proof that they are kept

Memories sit undisturbed from the day that they were made

Disappointment lingers constantly with no chance to ever fade

Happiness only comes and goes, a visitor who won't stay long

Conscience is hiding in the shadows, it cannot tell right from wrong

Confusion weaves its way through any thoughts that it can find

A tangled web of emotion lives inside my mind.
