IN OVER MY HEAD
In spite of the storm

Self confidence is a wonderful thingÂ
Especially when encouragementÂ
Was not around in your youthful daysÂ
Unseen and denied among your siblingsÂ
While standing in the middle of the roomÂ
But instead, been noticedÂ
As in the corner of ones eyes,
And without acceptanceÂ
A child's recipe for his doomÂ
Fighting and clawing your way through lifeÂ
Extending yourself beyond the normÂ
Wanting to be a part of greatÂ
Your candlelight of thinking, forever stays on
For so many people words comes easyÂ
From their minds to their lips like a songÂ
But the few words that you have learnedÂ
Despite the hurdles of comprehensionÂ
Struggles through stuttering lipsÂ
Like a complicated birthÂ
And so you call yourself a poetÂ
Putting those few words togetherÂ
With a threadÂ
Rubbing elbows with superior intellectualsÂ
And finding yourself, over your head.

You are a wonderful poet Wilfred. This entire poem proves just how wonderfully creative your thinking takes youÂ
I think most poets feel like this. And your last line in this particular verse of the poem is just beautifully depictedÂ
A triumph indeedÂ
Gwen :)
