In The City

Got a bottle of wine
And I'm Calling you mine
That was the best time
I've had in a while
Caught in an old town
Beauty in a ball gown
Dancing to the sound
I haven't heard
In a while
This songs getting better
For each and every letter
I write to you
Could you tell me
What it's like in the city
I can't wait for the time
You come homeĀ
If you're missing someone
You're not alone
Haven't seen you In a long time
And I hope you're still mine
I'm saving the best
Bottle of wine
Cause durring each letter
It gets better and better
So keep writting to me
what it's like in the city
And when you get here
I'll hold you my dear
We'll wright letters
And I'll tell you honey
What it's like in the country
And you'll tell me
What it's like in the city
But I've been missing you
You know I do
so that's pretty much
What happens here
I can't wait for the day
When I hold you dear
It's been a while
Since I've seen your smile
But I plan to travel
Every mile
So I can see you
In the city
So I can tell you
That I've been missing you too

Great poem! I really love the imagery you conjured with your words. My favourite thing about it is the repetition; enough to carry the poem along but not too much for it to be annoying. However I think the poem would flow a lot better if you went through and correct some spelling/grammar errors- but that's just me. Again really liked the poem!Ā
