In The Depths Of Your Mind

I can read your mind - it says that you don't like me,
it's my job to turn you around to enjoy my mystery,
I can set traps, so that you will plunge headlong,
unstoppable, diabetic but sugar icing can't be wrong.
Until the next time - like a number reoccurring,
goes on foever, so do I, to see what fate will bring;
the debate continued in heaven, no clothes or cloaks
to hide behind, pretend to make do with xmas cracker jokes.
We were told that crackers pulled at wrong time of year,
should have been october but it's the principle my dear,
we read the tiny pieces of paper: 'What do you get
if you don't win?' Answer: 'Nothing,' that's fine and yet . . . .
Perhaps it's just time to renege, both dressed in beige,
memories of dreadful homily, so we're both on the same page.
