Poem -

in the way that i did

As I sit in my bed
Covering my mouth with the palms of my hands
So that I don’t disturb my family with my pain
With my suffering

I cry silently into my pillow
And cover the screams up with the shower
Into the sound of the running water

I hide so much pain from them
Because I know they wouldn’t understand
Even when they say that they would
Because they don’t know you
And they will never know you
In the way that I do
In the way that I did

The pure melancholy....... the amazingly powerful truth that screams out from behind these words.... the pain in the obviousness of your having lived this experience is so moving that tears did find their way to the corners of my eyes!!........ this has been an astonishing evening for good poetry on Cosmo....... and this has been the painful icing on top of my reading tonight.... thank you so much for sharing this..... your pen is mighty..... and your ability to comprehend your own truth is a promise of truly masterful things to come.... keep writing dear poet sister...... you're intense..... and seriously gifted in the way that you express the simplicity of what life presents to you.... like a great painter you find the perfect colors for your palette......PINNED!!.....Great work!!......I am your cyber-friend and admirer!!........T xo ?✴❤✴?
