Death In Verona
My Romeo & Juliet

Ā
Lying once asleep without thoughts of love
Romeo fell upon his own worst fate
Juliet tumbled into his arms never to be separated
it was love at first sight
it struck them both like a million lightning bolts
Ā
and so the Opera beginsā¦
Ā
Juliet knew her love was forbidden
simply because her family wanted no ties
with that of Romeoās.
two families who despised each other
Ā
I, the Poet believe āthey were cursedā
Ā
Romeo and Juliet
ran away and married in secret
before she was to marry another
their love was too strong to surrender
even blood couldnāt separate them
Ā
the evening of the day they were wed
arrived alongside the darkest of clouds
a duel took place and a man was killed
Romeo had blood on his hands
Ā
having no choice but to leave at first light
or face the death penalty, he agreed to go
but little did he know
Juliet was already secretly planning
her escape to be with him
Ā
she was summoned to marry Paris
and she agreed knowing all the while
she would fake her death and return
to the arms of her Romeo
Ā
and so this Opera continuesā¦
Ā
Juliet takes a sleeping potion
she is dead āso they thoughtā
as she lay in her casket
Ā
laid to rest ābut never she willā
Romeo returned to her side
and on disbelief of his greatest love
sleeping for eternity without him
decides to kill himself
āthou shall not be aloneā
hailed Romeo
Ā
his heart broken he drinks the poison
āgone foreverā
only to be found by a sleepy yet alive Juliet
in the most tragic moment of her life
Ā
Juliet kisses Romeo
in hope she will also die from the poison
alas, it wasnāt to be
so she takes Romeoās dagger
āO happy daggerā
she cries
plunging it into her chest
slumped then on
Romeoās
lifeless body
Ā
whether they found each other
in paradise we shall never truly know
Ā
I can only hope that they did
Ā
because it doesnāt get
more poetic than this.

Ok give me the title you choose and I will š¹Ā

Don't hold me to this;
āāāāāāThe man who chose The garden over the firmamentsĀ
They sent him down here.
He decided he was not going home.
He was always going to be buriedĀ
In the ground.
The firmaments not opening up for him,
An Indian man. Or keeper of The garden.
Wow Rory brilliant off the cuff I really like this it's a long time I haven't done something like this with a poetry friend. Ok I'll keep my word use the title you first chose and hopefully get a piece of beautiful poetry on my favourite subject. You do the same no rush no time limit just a lovely project. š¹Ā
