Innocence Lost

Tumble down the rabbit hole into the world of dreams,
Where the lines of make believe are slowly tearing at the seams,

Spying through the looking glass, the images now distorted,
Smiles fake through broken teeth, where as bodies lie contorted,

White roses painted red, soaked in crimson blood,
Shadowing the yellow brick road, now tarnished from the mud,

The wardrobes has been set ablaze, now lies in a pile of ember,
Say goodbye to never land, if the art of flying you can't remember,

Goblins and trolls and kings and such, once filled with fame and glory,
Now they all share the same fate, as the tale of the never ending story,

The tooth fairy, Santa Clause and the Easter bunny,
Have long ago sold their souls for power fame and money,

Imaginary friends now happy, soon bitter they will turn,
As they wickedly laugh and joke, as they watch children's memories burn,

So please release your delusions, of traditions hope and pride,
And please make way for bigger and better, this assisted suicide,

Innocent minds of innocent youths, where innocent tears are spilled,
As you remember today the day of all days when your childhood innocence was killed.
