Insomnia

Insomnia you have become my best friend. Always wanting to talk when im ready for bed, so many topics you bring up is hard to know which ones are logical remembering of the past asking if things were different would that person still be here ? So many what if questions and so little answers. So much forgotten memories you bring back so much pain you bring back and yet i have embraced my lack of sleep, bringing back what once took forever to forget , you show me your love by causing so many doubts so many emotions and yet you wont stop regardless of time , a constant reminder of my failures and heart breaks. You are my friend for you always come visit me a dark silent room makes for echoes in my head a sea of images drown my thought your selfishness has no end million questions to little answers for you are my friend and always will be ......

I find paying attention to the beating of one's heart shuts the mind and his obsessive friends, be they anxiety, depression, insomnia, OCD. Your breath is the escape to the one and only place that is, "the now" , everything else is superficial.
Thank you for taking time in reading it i tried listening to my heartbeat and it helped somewhat thank you once more
Hey SAD POET!!..... this is such an interesting poetic contemplation!!.....I say interesting because I think so many people can relate to the subject matter itself.....I have problems sleeping too..... in fact, I begin therapy with a psychologist on September 7th for this same reason....... it sucks when you can't sleep..... because functioning the next day becomes more and more difficult..... even though some of the conversations you have with yourself are quite enlightening when you lay there 'not sleeping'!!.......ALL STARS!!...... compelling stuff my friend!!......LOVE & ROCKETS!!.......T xo ❤?
Thank you for your time i hope everything works out for you
Wow do I suffer from insomnia too. I use earplugs on really bad nights and my breathing seems to soothe me to sleep. Have you tried that? I can relate. Liked your poem! Terry Kay
