Intrepid

Intrepid

Closer you venture
But closer to me I drift.
You're a blue-eyed tyranny. Perky as usual, piercing into my soul like a sailor looking under a barnacle for pearls.... stubbornly attach to my rock

You don't know. I am a creature of the night. You don't know what I have endured. The timeless howl of  unforgiving moon and it's daughters, wretched queens and denizens of lost virgins raped before their wake, I remember each song and poem to their dedication. Days stretched in backyards or an empty morning glistening song with longing and the unknown of your caress.

You are mysterious. I think you have the capacity to love unselfishly. But it's hard to know when I don't know much about such things. I know I do not hold onto anything anymore..what is the point when I am not living my own. We are the same then you and I...lost in a confusion of not enough choices and not enough available ones.

Oh sailor, spare me your pity and take me out of this misery that is your poison.
I have not an ounce of flesh to give  but tainted in barnacled love.

Move on to true land where you can anchor. I have never been anything more than a visitor here. Immigrant soul gushing liberal I am.

Cannot find  solace in an intrepid place.
