Poem -

Is this life my own?

Is this life my own?

Is this life my own?

Am I looking in or looking out?

Can I be a clone of a clone?

Not enough time to work it all out.

Little girl so full of hope

Digging castles in the sand

Life’s wonders are like a kaleidoscope

Grandma took me by the hand.

A few years or so older

Perhaps a little wiser

I have my hand on her shoulder

My memories of her fade, I must memorise her

I wander about trying to be understood

The one who loved me best is now gone

Could I try my hand at a second childhood

I am not sure what’s going on

I cling onto what I think is real

Only to be feel the blows of love

He’s found my achille’s heel

Please lord, please lord, from above

Again I ask, is this life my own?

Where do I go now?

Where is my home?

I must find love, I vow

Moods, they change like the weather

Some days sunny

Some days better than other

I can’t find myself, for love nor money

Where did I leave myself

Who last saw me

Behind the curtain or on the shelf

Perhaps under the willow tree

Love has come, love has gone

I am reborn with each one

In this game of life I am just a pawn

Now my soul weighs a ton

Spring has come after a hard winters frost

Choice is mine they say

I search for what I once lost

Can I be, Can I be ok?

Today I face a choice

The fence is too narrow to walk

You can do it says a tiny little voice

You talk the talk, now walk the walk.

I must own this life of mine

I have taken it back from the thieves

One of these days I will be fine

What a tangled web she weaves

I own this life, I do.
