It Happened One Night

Written for my Linda- on our 25 year Anniversary of meeting.

Exactly twenty-five years ago, a quarter of a century;
The Angels looked down upon us, and said we were meant to be!
So they sent us each a guiding star, that led us to that night;
When we found each other at a club, a marriage they knew was right!

The moment that we saw ourselves, we knew something was in the air;
It was like we were both all alone, with six hundred others there!
Our first dance was most magical, we held, feeling our passions rise;
It was truly a, “Love At First Sight”, as we gazed in each other’s eyes!

We stayed together till two a.m., then kissed for our first time;
From that day on we would never part, our union was sublime!
We pledged our love forever then, just four days after we had met;
We both knew we’d found our Soulmate, our paths forever set!

We married on the fifth of June, having never parted company;
We lived together for the first eight months, Wedding Bells brought eternity!
For we then became a Man and Wife, our fingers wear the rings;
Two lonely people who found unending joy, whose hearts now ever sing!
