It May Just Blow Me in The Right Direction

It May Just Blow Me in The Right Direction

O' Day, what a glorious day
I’m free to wonder anywhere I like
so I’ve put my finest hat on
I shall go for a leisurely stroll
around town

I have no cares at all today
just sharing my time with the birds
who’ve come down to feed on the bread
I’ve generously spread on the ground for them

I’ll watch the ducks in the small river
floating up stream
and I’ll quietly wonder, where they are going?

I'll take a gentle breath of fresh air
and when I see someone I know
I shall stop to say hello
after all, time is on my side today

and when I finally arrive home
I shall open the door wide enough
welcoming new air
swapping it with the old

in hope…
It may just blow me, in the right direction.

Love the way you begin this poem. It sort of sets the tone for what follows. With no cares we notice things we wouldn't ordinarily. The birds, the ducks, people we know. And I love the occasional rhyme slipped in there. Bread and spread, hello and know. And then the new replacing the old. The perfect end my dear friend.

My dear Bernie, isn't it nice to be carefree sometimes and just go where the wind takes us. I like subtle rhyme sometimes, just to keep me on my toes, so very wonderful that you ha e come by and enjoyed this my most pleasant walk. Thank you dearest Bernie. 🌹
