It's A Long Haul

It's A Long Haul

It is hard these days
to hold it all together,
given star-crossed odds
and current circumstances.
I guess Sisyphus
condemned forever, to roll
a rock up a hill;
only to see it roll down
again, would know that
feeling all too well. Life's tough.
Sometimes, it feel like
we're merely chasing the wind.
We plan, scheme and dream;
often in vain. When
the inner light fades, darkness
arrives in many
guises. Yet we must keep
on moving, building
and praying. For the long haul
is worth it. We should
not seek applause, rather we
must work on our craft.
As Blake once put it
eloquently: ' To create
a little flower,
is the labour of ages.'
