ITS A NEW DAY

I called it freedom to do as I pleaseÂ
To decide the right to lifeÂ
And who swings from a tree
Give me the the whiteness of the cloudsÂ
And not the shades of black or brownÂ
For white clouds are from aboveÂ
Black and brown are just clay of the groundÂ
It is my right to chastise my slavesÂ
I have bought them with the price of deceptionÂ
I will determine their length days
In my cities or the countrysideÂ
I shall do with them as I please
I am to them a law of order and correctnessÂ
Their backs I shall pierce with led
And their necks I will crush with my kneesÂ
From distant shores I've brought themÂ
To this land where indigenous people once roamedÂ
I fell upon them very swiftly calling their land my home
I showed no mercy or compassionÂ
In my eyes they were savagesÂ
And enemies of my dreamsÂ
I raised my flag above their lifeless bodiesÂ
And build my cities in their blood and innocent screamsÂ
But a new day is dawningÂ
The heavens has heard their criesÂ
Solidarity is the voice of the morningÂ
This generation will not quietly stand by
They will topple your idols and statuesÂ
They will breakdown your walls of divisionÂ
They will burn your teachings of racismÂ
This you will experience in your lifetimeÂ
From this new and upcoming generation.
