It’s In The Genes

It seems they’re going very quickly now, these stars from all our pasts;
Our icons who we thought eternal, but life too shortly lasts!
Yesterday we lost another, one of the greatest comics of his time;
The incomparable Mr. Gene Wilder, who brought comedy to sublime!
I laughed till tears in all his films, “Blazing Saddles” and “Stir Crazy” were the best;
When it came to making patrons roll in the aisles, he was heads above the rest!
In 1982, he met his soulmate, the great Gilda Radner of SNL fame;
So sadly, they shared just seven years, ovarian cancer was the blame!
A part of him died that day too, for his heart was broke in half;
And when the tears are pouring from your soul, it’s hard to make people laugh!
After that he devoted much of his time, to funding lots of “Cancer Research”;
He tried to help all those that he could, of whom it would besmirch!
His real name was Jerome Silberman, “Gene Wilder” for the stage;
He passed yesterday at eighty-three, the greatest comedian of his age!
I’ll miss you dear Gene Wilder, you shared your passion and your love;
You are still one giant shining star, at night, we’ll see you up above!

My Larry this is a wonderful tribute to a very talented man, I didn`t know he`d gone till I read this piece. He has given us all so much pleasure with all his work and the world will miss him dearly.
Well done my darling for this wonderfully well written and superbly thought out piece. I am so proud of my special Larry.
I love you both

Hi My Love,
It just seems like almost every day when I read the paper, another what we thought of when we were younger as "immortals", has sadly passed. I think it brings us all closer to our own mortality.Â
Love always,
L and L

Hi Dear Debs,
I was shocked yesterday when I opened the paper and saw that he had passed. I can't tell you how many times he had me rolling in the aisles at theaters while watching his films. He was a one in a million. Thanks for your kind words.
Hugs, Peace and Love,
xox Larry
