Its Just A Child

Its Just A Child

After countless
Americans died
My college degree seemed worthless
Seeing Widows and Orphans cried

I enlistedĀ
like any patriot would
This world was so twisted
I was determined to do what I could

We went to a landĀ
Where children saw planes as a weapon
That killed with their bombs and dismembered hands
and ignored the cries to stop that beckon

A child innocence was taken
with brainwashed promises of 40 virgins
While idealist protesters at home left the soldier forsaken
The Enemy Young and Old continue to Surge in

My fellow soldier has a wife and son at home
He is and always will be my brotherĀ
So I will protect him at all cost in the war zone
even if it means costing the life of some other person's mother

So though you at home who never served
May think my loyalties may have become viled
Giving support to our military is what they deserve
As fighting a 12 year old terrorist is no longer Just a child...

Reality is not a pretty picture...................
