“It’s a Man’s World” (Inspired by James Brown)

And she makes it so wonderful, a man’s world. We perish—

A gentle touch; and so maroon—a beating heart. My sugar

Apple, a burgundy sky; and silent prose, a velvet tear. Let

Us dance—a color teal; and let us joy—a baby girl; for

Royal grey—a purple sun; and bluish smiles—an autumn

Leaf. Awake me, my moon: alert—a heart; and speak the

Script. If not the road, the journey so far; and if not the love,

The mind, so wrecked. She makes it so wonderful: a man’s

World; and we die control, a lost lot; and she cries prayer,

A welkin soul. My salmonberry, electric green; and oh this

Pain: to love the fruitless; and die the love. What would it

Be: a fallin’ star; and oh the drum, a seldom thump; and

She colors life—a Venus rain; and oh the volts—a touch of

Fey; and oh the grey—a human light.
