I’ve Never Met A Stranger

I’ve Never Met A Stranger

To me, there are no strangers, just people I do not know;
But give me a couple minutes, and I’ll get words to start to flow!
For I love to find their names out, and the place where they were raised;
The school that they attended, especially their college days!
.
Pretty soon we’ll be conversing, about all our common bonds;
Things in life that bring us passion, and of foods that we are fond!
We’ll talk about the old days, and how great they used to be;
No genocides and murders, from such strife, we were so free!
.
Sometimes, I’ll see them just once, but others, oft times again;
But even if for the former, I’ll know I’ve made a friend!
Will Rogers coined a great phrase, “Never met a man he did not like”;
I’m the same, I start a friendship, when a conversation up I strike!
.
.
                                There are no strangers
                           Just people we do not know
                             Good friends in waiting

Nigel Cresswell...

Hi Larry, totally agree, I travel everywhere using public transport and I have had some of my favourite conversations with the random rotation of wonderful stories that brings. No strangers, just stories I haven't yet heard. Great write.

Dear Nigel,

It is always so wonderful, that in one's travels, to meet people, and learn the stories of their lives.  Sometimes, I am saddened, because I know that after that day, I will never see them again.
Thank you for your lovely comment.

Peace and Love,

My Dear Syd,

I would only tell you "all my stories", if you would tell me all of yours.  Wouldn't it be wonderful to sit down and learn about each other's lives.

Peace and Love,

Dear Charu,

It is an honor to receive this high praise, from a gifted poet as yourself.
I consider you one of my poetic Soulmates, because every time we converse, I can feel our spirits touching.
You have a very gentle heart, which radiates with sweet love.

Love,

Dear Greg,

At last, we are in the same Fraternity.  I can feel common bonds that we possess.
So nice, to finally be united.
