You were the one who suffered the humility and pain
You were the one who gave himself so that I might gain
You were the one who wore the crown of thorns upon His head
You were the one they hung taunted and the one who bled
I thank you precious Saviour that you loved someone like me
That you loved me oh so much you let them hang you on the tree
That you thought of all the lost ones when they pierced your loving side
Satan thought he had the victory when He saw you die
But you rose you had the triumph the victory over sin
And we can have that victory too if we let you dwell within.
